What's with the name?

We get asked all the time… "What's with the name?" Well it tells a story that expresses not only what is with the name… but also what our company is all about and that story goes like this……….

Many years ago the founder of our company overheard her ailing Grandmother joyfully referring to her daughter as "Principessa". She did not know what it meant but it was an endearing term best she could tell because it always seemed to bring smiles to both their faces. When asked what the word meant, her Grandmother could not relate or answer as her illness took her in and out of the moment so easily.

Curious to know what this lovely word meant, our Founder grabbed an envelope and jotted down the word phonetically to try to find its true meaning. Knowing that her Grandmother spoke Italian – Jennifer took the word to an Italian dictionary and soon found, while misspelled, PRINCAPECHA meant Princess! The proper spelling; "Principessa".

The phonetic word PRINCAPECHA is known today as one of the leading Children's Entertainment Companies on the East Coast and represents the heart and now soul of an Italian Grandmother who, just before her death, found a renewed life and happiness through the smiles of a child she called, "Principessa".
